Question about my female GSD

My 4 yr old female GSD frequently urinates inside home. spayed very gentle

You didn't say if this was normal and had always happened or if this was something that just started up so I'm going to assume that you're asking about this problem because it just started. So here we go....

You did mention that your female German Shepherd was spayed. That is two clues for me right off the bat. And this is what it instantly made me think of - there is a condition that frequently happens in female dogs that have been spayed. It's called spay incontinence.

Due to age and the spaying procedure they may "leak" a bit from time to time - and this amount can vary from dog to dog. But not being a vet and not knowing the dog personally I couldn't tell you for sure - but I would certainly suspect this as a possibility.

Here's what I would suggest you do - get your GSD to a vet for a check up and make sure exactly what is causing the problem. Either way, whether this is what is wrong or not, you'll know exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done.

And if it is spay incontinence it can be treated with medications to make the condition more controllable. And if it's something else, well, you'll know that too. Good luck!
