Looking for a German Shepherd Service Dog Candidate
by Chris Taylor

Hello, I need your help. I am a disabled vet and need a service dog.
I have a person that is willing to train a service dog for me, but the problem is that I can not afford one. I have had German Shepherds for the majority of my life and even worked at the world trade centers after 9/11 doing search and rescue.
We were there for six months before we left. He lived for three more years before coming down with cancer that was so bad he had to be put to sleep. I was told by his vet. that his cancer was common in SAR dogs from the WTC.
Shortly I became disabled a year or so after his passing and have now gotten to the point that I need a service dog and I am ready to get another dog since I have gotten over my others death as best as I can.
I was wondering if anyone could find it in their heart to help me. I would like to be able to get a Male puppy so that he and I can bond properly and I can have him trained so we can have a long time together.
I pray that possibly one of you may be able to help me. Thanks and God Bless, R. Chris Taylor
Total German Shepherd: Hey Chris, if I were you I would definitely check into
German Shepherd rescues in your area or your local animal shelters for potential new companions to choose from.
That's two places for you to start anyway. Good luck and keep us up on your quest for a new service animal.
